Yet another Money Merge Account
July 2, 2007 – 8:54 amStumbled onto CMG Financial Services just now. It appears that yet another mortgage broker-esque company has entered into the One Account aka Money Merge Account space. CU’s have an opportunity here to help mainstream this product, but we’re falling farther and farther behind!

One of our Branch Managers at United First Financial was one of the top employees for a couple years with the CMG company and now works for UFF. Mainly because the MMA is able to empower homeowners to pay down their mortgages even FASTER!! But it’s good that these products are becoming available for homeowners as the current scenario of minimum payments and paying over 100% of the value of the home in just interest is just not working for a lot of us. And we demand change!

It appears that CMG is offering the same home accelerator product as other brokers as they all use the same branding. We have a broker here in Inday using it. For example, check out http://www.lifechangingloan.com. Here at FORUM we are working on a platform that will get us to a mortgage accelerator product with some added convenience options. In the patent process now for the options. You are right credit unions need to get on this. The reason we are seeking a patent on what we are doing is to help us share with other credit unions should it prove successful. Envision Financial Credit Union’s Red Frog account is the credit union’s biggest success in this space. Over 50% of their mortgages last year were Red Frogs.
